MATT O’Rourke and Carly Gough held a ‘carols around the tree’ event in their front garden just before Christmas and raised hundreds of pounds.
Matt, who is the newly elected chairman of Knighton show and carnival committee, also organised a raffle with a first prize of half a pig donated by Andrew and Tom Pugh, butchers in Knighton. The final total from the event and raffle sales came to £736.36. All the money will go towards the 2015 show and carnival. The winning raffle ticket was pulled out of the bucket by Tom Pugh and the winners were Pat and Boggy Bywater from Knighton.
