THIS year's Ross Rotary community Christmas party took place at the Larruperz Centre on December 6 and was attended by 80 guests.

The excellent entertainment was provided by Ross Town Band who played some rousing seasonal numbers, X-entricity who sang some delightful Christmas standards and King's Ransom, Rotarian Alan and Eileen Hammond, who played and sang some traditional folk songs. Afternoon tea of sandwiches and cakes was followed by a bumper Christmas raffle and community carol singing with the Ross Rotary choristers.

Judging from the many appreciative comments, everyone appeared to have a very enjoyable time. Ross Rotary sends an enormous thank you to all those who performed on stage as well as those who helped behind the scenes providing sandwiches, cakes and raffle prizes, which contributed to making this event the resounding success it undoubtedly was. A special thank you goes to Roger Hicks, one-time general manager of the Ross Gazette, who bequeathed £500 to be used by Rotary within the Ross-on-Wye community. In line with his wishes, Ross Rotary has used his bequest to help fund the cost of this year's community Christmas party.
