MORE than 70 local St Michael’s Hospice supporters enjoyed a magnificent fireworks spectacular, provided by Niteforce Fireworks, to celebrate the 30 years of St Michael’s Hospice in Hereford. The weather held and all were able to gather in the gardens of Dewsall Court to enjoy the fireworks. Almost £8,000 was raised for the redevelopment appeal.

The evening kicked off with a reception in the court, serving locally produced Castle Brook Chinn-Chinn Fizz and delicious canapes produced by local caterers, A2Zest Events.

After the fireworks, guests were led by burning torches to the magnificent Wain House Barn area at Dewsall Court, where the entire area was lit by candles, flaming torches and fire pits. There, a delicious dinner was served, followed by a successful auction, conducted jointly by Peter Hill and Alister Walshe; Peter Hill representing those heavily involved in the initial hospice development 30 years ago and Alister Walshe (current chair of trustees) representing today, 30 years on, and the current redevelopment of St Michael’s. After all of the serious fundraising, guests were then able to let their hair down and dance the night away to the brilliant band, The Spitfires. A great night was had by all.
