KNIGHTON Macmillan Support Group raised over £1,700 at its recent Christmas fair.

The event was held on November 22 in the church hall in Knighton and attracted a large number of people. Father Christmas made his first visit to the town and gave out gifts to all the children. There was face painting, raffles, tombola, refreshments and lots of things for sale.

Group chairman Liz George thanked everyone for their help and support on the day, and all those who donated prizes and items for sale. The big raffle winners were: Peter Lewis, A Morris, Marie Hall, Shirley Moorhouse, Lauren Vickress, S Pearson and Mandy Layton. Room raffle Jo Brick, Helen Davies, Muriel Webster, Pat Ball, Vicky Wilkes, Kathy Reeves and Lilian Bright. The rabbit was won by Mary Price who guessed its name correctly as Tom.
