THE staff and pupil of Kington Primary School were delighted that Olympian, Daniel Caines, joined them to launch their Be The Best You Can Be initiative. Daniel is one of Great Britain's top runners over 400m and brought his treasured gold medal into school, much to the delight of the children.

The initiative is run by the charity 21st Century Legacy and supported by Comic Relief. It was set up to ensure the 2012 London Olympics continued to have an impact on young people. It encourages the children to set personal goals, sporting or otherwise, and helps them to create a plan to make them a reality.

Headteacher, Anne Phillips said "It was a fantastic, inspiring day that fitted brilliantly with our school values and desire to support everyone in achieving their very best. The school was buzzing with excitement as Daniel encouraged the children to follow their dreams but also think about how to make them a reality".
