THE Hereford Rail Male Voice Choir is delighted to announce that they are hosting the first visit of the Tenby Male Choir to Hereford for many years, on October 4 at Holy Trinity Church in Hereford at 7pm.

The 40 strong choir was founded in 1975 and has sung extensively throughout Britain and Europe. They have performed in Holland, Gibraltar, Ireland, Yugoslavia, Malta, Romania and Italy.

They are conducted by their musical director Ian Williams and accompanied by Jill Williams (no relation).

The concert is in aid of Acorns Hospice and will take the form of alternate performances by both choirs. There will be a mix of musical numbers, traditional and modern, secular and religious, and will appeal to most tastes.

The choirs will combine to sing Verdi's Speed Your Journey and Morte Christe written and arranged by Emtys Jones, two popular songs with all audiences. Also featured will be Bring him Home, from Les Miserables and Can you Feel the Love tonight from The Lion King.

The Rail Choir will be performing a new medley of First World War songs specially arranged by Alwyn Humphreys to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the war. They will be conducted by their musical director Derek Gough and accompanied by Cath Evans and Sandra Gale.

The choir continues to be supported by the Hereford City Council.

Admission will be £6 by tickets available from members of the choir, from Outback Records on Church Street or on the door on the night.
