THE winning business duck in this year's City of Hereford Rotary Club's duck race was Chris Cole Electricals and Chris is seen receiving his case of champagne from President Judy Bolton.

Chris has been a regular supporter of the Duck race and he is also involved in fund raising for Alzheimer's every year, helping in the organisation of a golf Am Am which raises around £15,000.

"Support given by local businesses to our annual River Festival is invaluable and we thank all of them for their tremendous support," said Judy Bolton. "There were over 160 business ducks this year.

"Hereford City Rotary Club is a little different from the normal Rotary Club, for a start we have 46 members aged from 28 - 92 and we like to think that we are a friendly bunch, enjoying ourselves socially while raising tens of thousands of pounds for local charities and good causes and supporting National and International Rotary Projects.

"It's all about fun and friendship whilst helping people less fortunate than ourselves."

Evening meetings include a Speaker and club members have been educated and entertained by a huge variety of people in the past 12 months.

This year a party from the club visited our twin club in Tromso in Norway and they have also come across to visit Herefordshire.

"A group of us also went to India to help immunise 100 million people against Polio, one of the most incredible experiences in may members' lives," said Judy. "Our evening meetings are from 6.30 until 9pm and lunchtime 12.30 until 2pm and all are held at the Bay Horse in Hereford.

"If you want to have fun and make lasting friendships with an amazing bunch of local business people whilst helping people less fortunate than you then Hereford City Rotary Club is the place for you."
