AYLESTONE Business and Enterprise College recently rewarded their inspirational student leaders for the time and effort that they have put into supporting the school and community.
This event marked the end of a year in which leadership has been a focus for the school, with all in the school community working to the motto of 'Everyone a Leader, Everyone a Learner'.
Each of the 140 participants has held a leadership role at the school or its partner primary schools during this year.
Our leaders have included prefects, peer mentors, buddy readers, council representatives, sports leaders, language mentors and house captains.
There are already plans for a wider range of activities involving our enthusiastic leaders next year and we are encouraging an even higher percentage of our pupils to become involved.
Presently we have 30% of the school population in all years leading a variety of activities.
Oakerwood Leisure were invited to the school to run a team building afternoon on the school site which was enjoyed by all participants and was generously funded by the Sylvia Short Educational Charity.
