A HEREFORD-based project, which provides housing and support to young homeless people, has been named as a finalist for prestigious national award.
Supported Housing for Young People Project (SHYPP) has been shortlisted from over 200 entries for the 2014 Housing Heroes Awards.
The nomination comes after the SHYPP, which is managed by Kemble Housing, secured a contract with Herefordshire County Council to deliver housing and support to 16-25 year olds in the county, meaning 3,000 young people at risk of homelessness will be helped. The project has also secured two three-year adult learning contracts with the council, and attracted more than £100,000 of funding to support young people with lifeskills and wellbeing advice, as well as training and development.
