Herefordshire Business News: Herefordshire Housing announces new greener fleet

ONE of the county’s leading social housing providers has taken charge of a new fleet of carbon dioxide-busting vans.

Herefordshire Housing’s 50 new vehicles are set to reduce countywide emissions of the gas by around 56,000 kilograms each year.

The vehicles, which have been renewed by Herefordshire Housing for the first time in a decade, are armed with sat-navs and bluetooth technology as well as an onboard power socket to charge up work tools.

The group’s chief executive Peter Brown said: “This is a major investment in the future of our repairs service. It combines benefits for our tenants and for the Herefordshire environment.”
