Herefordshire College of Technology (HCT) named 'best education development' in the west of England

A Hereford college has won a regional award for its cutting edge refurbishment.

Herefordshire College of Technology (HCT) has been named the “best education development” in the west of England.

The Folly Lane college beat off several education developments to win the local authority building control (LABC) award.

HCT also received a best partnership nomination from the LABC panel, consisting of planning officers from several authorities.

Judges praised the “striking”

redevelopment of the college from a tired 1960s campus to a series of vibrant buildings.

Figures from the college, builders and architects collected the award at the Bristol Royal Marriott Hotel.
