Hereford jeweller displays at Goldsmith's Hall in London

A HEREFORD jeweller’s work is on display at Goldsmith’s Hall in London after she impressed some of the top brass in the world of arts and crafts.

Annie Cracknell was commended for her hand carved quartz cufflinks and received the Gem-A award, a scholarship for a diamond grading course at the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.

The 23-year-old from Whitecross said: “I was so shocked when my name was called. I thought I had only won the commendation.”

The Gemmological Association’s Gem-A award ceremony, in its 101st year, is designed to encourage the pursuit of excellence in craftsmanship and design among all those engaged in silversmithing, goldsmithing, jewellery and allied crafts.

The cufflinks will be exhibited at Goldsmiths’ Hall along with the other prize winners until the end of March.
