A Hereford parliamentary candidate has helped to raise money for a new county debt counselling service.

Conservative candidate Jesse Norman brought £3,000 towards the new CAP Centre.

The joint venture is between the Challenge Community Church, the Christian Life Centre and St Peter's and St James's Churches in Hereford.

It will be located at the Challenge Community Church on Belmont Road and will help people deal with bills and creditors for free.

Martin Erwin, who has worked to set up the centre, said "I am delighted at this very kind contribution, which comes from John Lewis PLC, and we are all extremely grateful to Jesse for organising it.”
