THE director of a Herefordshire architectual practice has been crowned as this year’s green guru.
Jonathan Hines, director of Architype, based in Upper Twyford, near Hereford, received the accolade from Building magazine in recognition of his environmentally friendly work.
Following an overwhelming number of votes supporting Mr Hines, his new status as the “most influential architect driving forward the delivery of sustainable building” was confirmed during an online interactive conference.
This highlighted the work of Mr Hines and his team in aiming to ensure their designs are fundamentally sustainable, with a focus on minimising energy consumption and carbon emissions.
Architype is currently working on the Ledbury library scheme and has recently been shortlisted for a Civic Trust award for its highly sustainable primary school project in the West Midlands.
