Innovation award to Hereford technology firm

A HEREFORD company supplying specialist technologies for use by high profile bodies is the latest recipient of the Hereford Times/Baker Tilly Trailblazer Award for innovation.

I A Technology, which supplies the Ministry of Defence, the Army, the Royal Navy and air forces worldwide, has worked hard to establish a solid reputation and has created its own niche in the electronics and telecommunications markets.

Managing director Duncan Williams said: “Our culture is all about the flawless execution of interesting ideas, delivered on time. We take ideas and use our skills in innovation to make them happen.

“We offer customers a complete service from an initial idea to a marketable product.

We can provide an agile and flexible manufacturing facility, which is ideal for low to medium volume electronics.

“Our knowledge and experience has taken us into fields where we can develop lifecritical systems, where failure of the product would be catastrophic and possibly fatal.

“We’ve recently been recognised by the MoD for our work in developing devices which protect service personnel in war zones.”

Mr Williams said the company was lucky to have an excellent research and development team with some of the most innovative minds in the industry.

“This will enable us to carry forward our plans to expand the business into new areas such as crime prevention, as well as complementary sectors such as telephony,” he said.

I A Technology’s approach has been praised by Allan Davies, senior partner at the Hereford office of national business advisory and accountancy firm Baker Tilly.

“The company has strong commercial skills as well as the knowledge and creativity to capitalise on the opportunities in their marketplace,” said Mr Davies.

The Hereford Times/Baker Tilly Trailblazer Award is presented quarterly and recognises local business innovation and good practice.
