FOOD producers from across Herefordshire showcased their food and drink at the 21st Ludlow Food and Drink festival last weekend. Wines, liqueurs, ciders, scotch eggs, biscuits, sauces and dressings were among the treats on offer.

Anthony and Lorraine Digweed of Monkhide wines in Canon Pyon were delighted that their newly launched traditional mead was a sell-out.

"The demand for our mead was far higher than we had expected. Customers seemed to like the fact that we ferment the mead using our home-produced honey," commented Lorraine, following the festival.

"With such interest in Herefordshire as a producer of outstanding food and drink, it seems inevitable that the demands for a return of a Hereford Food Festival next year will increase," she said.
