YOUNGSTERS will be able to develop the skills needed to be a great rugby player at a new play programme coming to towns across Herefordshire.

Rugbytots is a specifically designed play programme, aimed at children between the ages of two and seven, and uses the multiple skills of Rugby to create an enjoyable environment while developing basic core motor skills.

Rugbytots was created in 2006 to fill a gap in the child development sector by introducing children to rugby in a fun and structured environment.

All sessions are run by trained staff that create an engaging atmosphere that will build confidence in participants.

Classes started at Leominster’s Bridge Street Sports Centre and at Hereford Sixth Form College last week and are being launched in Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury.

Franchise owner Lizzie Davidson was brought up watching rugby with her dad, and played the game at Harper Adams University College.

She has also attended the ladies’ touch rugby sessions which are currently being run at Luctonians Sports Club, where her husband Alex Davidson is director of rugby.
