HEREFORD Enterprise Zone has welcomed two new investments.

Electricity network company Western Power Distribution and construction industry supplier Marches Global have developments under way at Skylon Park in Rotherwas.

The multi-million investment follows the building of a new access road which has opened up land on the North Magazine site.

Chairman of the Enterprise Zone Board, Bill Jackson, said: “It is fantastic to see progress gaining pace at Skylon Park. Western Power's development is already half-completed and I was really pleased to see how quickly the build is coming along when I toured the site recently.”

Western Power Distribution is building a major new regional centre off Chapel Road, offering engineering facilities, office space and storage for the company as well as apprenticeship opportunities.

Marches Global contractors moved on to site this month and the steel structure is expected to be up in the next few weeks.

Across Skylon Park, there is 40,000 sq ft of workspace built or under construction already.

“The Zone team is working continually with investors and potential investors to see how we can make the site work for best for them, and to help the Zone achieve its potential to create more than 4,000 jobs in the coming years," said Mr Jackson.

The new 500m North Magazine road opens up 20 acres of development land.

These latest investments follow the official opening of the first completed development by Beck Products, a leading UK supplier to the construction and horticultural industries. Its new 13,000 sq ft base was built by Leominster Construction.

Businesses investing on the site are offered a number of benefits including business rates relief.
