THE Tour of Britain will skirt the county this week – bringing the excitement of a top cycling event close to home and there is keen local interest with Hereford-based team NFTO – Not For The Ordinary competing alongside the likes of Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish.

Local business Cotswold Hereford is a proud sponsor of the team and they’ll be following the action closely along with the rest of us, right up to the London finishing line on Sunday.

It’s NFTO’s first Tour of Britain and the team has enjoyed a promising year already, as winners at UCI Rutland CiCLE Classic Road Race, while taking 2nd and 3rd at the Wilton GP Road race.

The squad has been selected to support captain Adam Blythe who has proved he can mix it with the top professionals by winning the recent Ride London-Surrey Classic.

He’s also won the Ispwich GP Road Race this year and taken 3rd place in the UCI Beaumont Trophy Road Race.
