A HEREFORDSHIRE company had that winning feeling at the inaugural Solar Power Portal Awards held at the NEC in Birmingham.
Wind and Sun, based in Stoke Prior near Leominster, was recognised for its work with the Isle Of Eigg Electrification Scheme.
The company was named winner for the best integration of solar generation as part of a total energy solution.
The finalists in this category demonstrated exceptional system design, creating integrated systems that significantly reduced customers’ energy bills as well as emissions.
The company was also highly commended for most innovative system design.
“We are thrilled to get these accolades, it’s fantastic to have our achievements recognised," said Steve Wade, who received the award at the ceremony. "We have been involved in this project for almost 10 years now, from its inception through installation and on to development and support.
"It’s been a privilege to work on this and we are looking forward to taking the lessons learned on to the mainland."
The Solar Power Portal Awards were launched in 2013 to recognise the best in the UK solar industry.
