For those lucky enough to have been there, it was a night to remember as three of the county's punk bands put on storming sets at Mamma Jamma's to raise money for local children's charity Phoenix Bereavement Support.
The night started with Stunted Growth performing their own songs - they soon got us all moving with their hybrid of old and new-punk style, with a guest sax player to boot.
Next up were Abysmal who were anything but. Playing old 70s classics by bands such as the Sex Pistols, they roared through at a thunderous pace - their lead guitarist and their front man both growling & grimacing through every note. Breathless live show!
Finally, The Delinquents - a young three-piece with the punk spirit burning bright - their own songs mingling with a cover or two they showed no respect for themselves or anyone else as they pounded their instruments mercilessly - and even managed a smile or two. If there isn't a punk scene, there should be with gigs like this - not even the downpour as we left could dampen a deafening, but enlightening night and as part of the HerefordLive project this certainly brought life back to the city's music scene.
