A HEREFORDSHIRE company is celebrating after winning nine gold medals at the 2013 Great Taste Awards.
The news means that Tyrrells now holds 55 gold medals - more than any other premium crisp producer.
Each product is judged by a panel of experts including retailers, chefs, restaurant critics, food writers and industry experts. And this year’s winners include a range of crisps, vegetable crisps, TorTyrrells, Furrows and Alternatives.
Oliver Rudgard, marketing Director of Tyrrells Crisps, said: “The team is delighted with the result. It’s great to enjoy continued recognition for the Tyrrells classics, but also incredibly encouraging to welcome new launches into the hall of fame, including our Swanky Veg Crisps and TorTyrrells Tortillas”.
The company has recently been sold for £100 million to a luxury brand investment group from Bahrain.
The sale to Investcorp has secured Tyrrells’ future and will allow the firm to proceed with a planned expansion at its Stretford
Bridge site, said chief executive David Milner.
