BUSINESS leaders from across Herefordshire have attended the launch of the St Michael’s Hospice employee fundraiser of the year awards.
These newly created awards recognise and reward employee fundraisers who have gone to the greatest efforts in raising funds and awareness for St Michael’s Hospice, whether organising events or through individual efforts such as sponsorship. The hospice is working in partnership with another local charity, The Vivat Trust, which has provided the prizes - three self-catering weekend breaks in one of three historic properties.
Elizabeth Morawiecka, partnership development manager, said: “We are very grateful to the local businesses that are supporting the hospice by adopting it as their charity of the year or by becoming a corporate partner and hope these new awards will be mutually beneficial.
"We work hard to create long-term partnerships that deliver clear value to our business partners as well as raising significant funds for our work”.
The evening was also an opportunity for businesses to discuss the hospice redevelopment plans and its Once-in-a-Lifetime Appeal to support its mission to double the number of local people who can access its care and support in the years ahead.
The Vivat Trust is a registered charity trust that restores historic buildings and makes them available as short stay self-catering holiday lets.
