Although I was born in Herefordshire, like a lot of dogs I was abandoned at a very early age. I was discarded and left in a gateway to a small farm in the village of Eyton where, after about a week, I was approached by my person who gave me some food. He seemed nice and wanted to get to know him, but before we could talk, the dog warden came and took me away. Apparently someone told him them was a stray dog in the area. After spending three days in a dog pound in south Herefordshire I was taken back to Eyton where I was re-introduced to my person. I did not know it, but he was upset when the dog warden took me and spent a lot of time to find out where I was and to try and give me a home. All that was about five years ago now and today I am very happy with my home. I have a big garden and fields in which to run, play and hunt and I have plenty of food and a nice bed to sleep in. I still don’t know anything about my parents or brothers and sisters, but what I have learned from the way people talk is that my father was probably a spaniel and my mother a Jack Russell. This has given me a great sense of smell together with the energy and hunting instincts of a terrier. Life is very good now, but I still do think about the bad times and all those other poor dogs who have not been so lucky. All we want is a little love and comfort and we will repay that with kindness and loyalty.
