Photograph of the Author I am a born and bred Herefordian. Which I consider to be a good thing, so don't knock it. My parents are born and bred Herefordians...My grandparents are born and bred Herefordians.... Are you spotting a trend here? Unfortunately my wife was born in Shropshire, but we'll let that one slide for now. I love Herefordshire. I have travelled all over the UK and the World but always look forward to the lush greenery and rolling hills of Herefordshire, my home, my family, my cup of tea, biscuits and the feeling of power I get from being Master of the TV remote - when I can find it. Scarily, I am a parent - 3 children call me Dad. Why ‘scarily’? Well, firstly because I have 3 children (scary enough in its own right!)! Secondly because this apparently enforces the image of being a responsible adult (but I don’t let that spoil things). I was born in 1973. 1973 was a good year: Ringos, the Austin Allegro, Evil Kneivel, The Wombles, The Exorcist, Bic disposable lighters, end of the Vietnam War, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, Skylab, Ethernet, Total Solar Eclipse, 3 Day Week...and of course I arrived on the scene. So, a good year (don't worry about wars, assassinations, Watergate, etc....). I am a trained multi-skilled engineer (but I didn't do a DIY module so don't ask) but I am now a Civil Servant. I am trying to educate myself via The Open University and hope to attain a BSc in Astrophysics before the year 3000. And yes, I probably should get out more."
