Wendy Tarplee's Halo Gym Blog

When I was given the opportunity to join Halo through the Hereford Times I jumped at the chance after Christmas over indulgence and the prospect of spring looming and having to shed the jumpers I’d been hiding under.
I was in for my first meeting with Kelly to explain about the membership and booked in for my kickstart 1 & 2 appointment with Sue within just two days, so I didn’t have any time to change my mind. I found the kickstart 1 & 2 really useful as this is where my goals were set and my dreaded measurements taken! Although the measurements were optional, I thought they would be a good way of keeping track of my progress and keeping myself motivated. My weight was 60.5kg and we decided that I could afford to lose a little bit, but my main aims are to do some serious toning and to improve my fitness. After having two children my stomach muscles could really do with tightening up and flattening, also I worry about all the other usual things like flabby arms, thighs and bottom too.
The only regular exercise I’ve been doing up until now is dance classes. This is something I’ve always done since I was a child, which is very good for flexibility and deportment ( and brilliant fun too!) but I’ve always felt that my fitness leaves a lot to be desired. Sue was really friendly and helpful. She set me some realistic goals and a nice workout from which she is promising me some all important results! I was told that I need to do the workout 2-3 times a week and I’ve been recommended some good classes from their enormous timetable. I think I’ll try and attend some of the classes, as there is such a huge range and they are all included in the membership too!
Anyway, at the moment I’m feeling really motivated and can’t wait to get started…I’m also thinking that it might be a good excuse to treat myself to some new gym kit!
