First night at the panto

6:28pm Wednesday 5th December 2007

When I went to the opening night of the pantomime, I found out that when you are being the Mayor, you have to keep going, keep smiling and shaking hands even if you are really tired. We met the Mayor's officer at the Town Hall and went to the pantomime in the civic car and I had to wear a blazer (I didn't like the blazer) and the chain.
Snow White was very hilarious and I was laughing at a lot of the jokes. My favourite part was when they showed the picture of the Prince which was really ugly but then when he came on he wasn't ugly at all and the wicked step mother really fancied him. There was a lot of shouting from teh audience especially when they threw the sweets out and I got one of them.
After the show I met the Dame and some of the rest of the cast, but it was hard to recognise them without their costumes on.
Then we went back to the Town Hall and I wanted to go home but the Hospice Angels were meeting in the big hall and the British GP125 champion(Luke Jones) was there along with his team. I got to sit on the bike and found its average speed was 120 mph and there was a lot of photoshoots with me and the Mayor. I got two signed posters from Luke Jones. Just before we went home we had yet another photo this time with a girl who suffered very bad eczema who had just won an award. By then it was so late I was nearly asleep but I'd had a good time that evening. The Mayor's officer took off my chain and we went home at 11.15 pm.
