Hi Everyone
Well as you know myself (the mad fairy) and the terrible two - (Sue the indian and her daughter Fliss the hula girl) have been getting up to all sorts of antics trying
desparately to raise lots of dosh for Cancer Research by getting donations and sponsorship for Race for Life.
Well Tomorrow at 11am is THE BIG DAY !!! we are walking around Hereford Racecourse for 5km.
I promised you, the other night a run down of our latest antics - so hear goes.!
Thursday 12th July - We invaded Morrisons supermarket in Hereford, the staff there gave us full run of the shop and were really helpful - a big thanks to Chris Hodgkinson, for allowing us in
and Brian Cleary and his staff for all their help on the day.
We were originally going to pack and they gave us some of the big flower buckets each to tape our posters on.
But in actual fact we found a much better way! Sue and Fliss stood outside the entrance, Sue must have known just about every other shopper from when they had their fish and chip shop!! so plenty of
gassing aswell as donating was going on there.
Tom (Puss in boots) and l stationed ourselves inside and caught the people going out, alot of whom still had the purses, wallets out putting change away from till - NOT FOR LONG - WE HAD IT!!!!
lol
We wandered around the cafe and the aisles, we spent time meeting and greeting and l made people laugh with my "barbie girl" wand! (for those that dont know the ball on the end of my wand flashes
different colours and when the button is pressed its annoyingly plays the chorus of "Im a barbie girl in a barbie world".
However with the young blokes it works well asking for donations TO SWITCH IT OFFFFFF!!! they dive for their wallets ha ha.
Tom, Puss in Boots, was a brilliant Cute factor, and wandered around twirling his tail, and talking to people, leading them to us. The old ladies in particular thought he was "so cute" ah! They'd
look at his empty bucket and insist on putting some money in - what they didnt know is he came straight back to us and emptied it into ours!
By the end of the day - boy was those buckets heavy!!
We made an astonishing £405 that day!!
Friday 13th evening we called in at TGS Bowling for the evening and talked to the bowlers, amusement players, drinkers, eaters, pool players, staff etc.
A huge thanks to them all - and to David Edwards and his staff for allowing us in and anouncing us over the tannoy.
We made another £244 there. We only had a cola each but boy were we drunk on happiness and adrenaline!
We now for the good news - Totals
Sarah (me - The Mad Fairy) has £ 959.67
Sue (indian) has £ 970.87
Fliss (hula) has £ 936.76
which gives us a new grand total of
DRUM ROLL PLEASE !!!!
£ 2,867.30
Please take pity on me and help me raise my £1,000 target.
Donating is easy online, its safe and secure as we use Paypal and it is possible to donate this way from ANYWHERE in the world.
Please donate a few pennies and tell your friends about us - get them to let the paddlocks off their wallets/purses.
Help me reach my £1,000 target and thats more money for reseach into Prevention, Treatment, and Cure with Cancer Research via Race for Life.
GO ON BE A LIFESAVER!!
Thank you
Sarah the mad fairy
