Big art in the Black Mountains
5:00pm Sunday 21st October 2012 in News By Lauren Rogers
LOCAL artist Kate Raggett took to the skies to look down on art in the foothills of the Black Mountains.
Kate created the Monnow Valley Big Draw, a giant piece of artwork which is on show outside the Monnow Valley Arts Centre in Walterstone until October 28, with help from the local community.
Villagers, including children and teachers from Michaelchurch Escley Primary School, used raw materials, such as wool, willow, conkers, apples, pine cones and lavender to make the artwork which measures more than 20 metres across.
The site is open from 11am to 5pm on Thursdays and Fridays and from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
