A HEREFORDSHIRE dog trainer and his German shepherd have smashed records at an international contest.

Travis Foster and four-year-old Vongalanberg Kai, based at the Vislor Dog Training Centre in Ledbury, are the first British team to reach the top 10 at the IPO World Championships held in Austria.

The duo came seventh in the contest which is best described as a triathlon for working and defence dogs.

As well as scoring big points on the competition field, Kai and Travis are often film extras and most recently starred in Batman: The Dark Knight Rises.

Both man and dog will be showing off their skills at the Mini Show at the Three Counties Showground, near Malvern, this Sunday (October 21).
