Update: Lorry carrying cattle overturned near Bromyard

A LORRY carrying a large number of cattle has overturned near the River Teme.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue was called to Holly Bush Lane, off the B4203 at Wolferlow near Bromyard, at 2.36pm to reports that a lorry carrying livestock had overturned.

The lorry was carrying 52 animals over two decks when it overturned close the edge of the waters of the River Teme.

Several crews came out from Bromyard, Worcester and Stourport and are still at the scene as well as the urban search and rescue team from Droitwich, carrying heavy lifting equipment.

There are no reported injuries at this time but Holly Bush Lane is partially blocked.

Update: As of 4.50pm fire crews were still at the site working to save the cattle and to make the Heavy Goods Vehicle stable after it left the road and turned over on to its side.

Oh those poor animals. I hope they recover and are not badly injurred. What a terrible ordeal for them, not only the horrid transportation they endure, but the lorry turning over too! Just terrible. Bless them.
