A MEMBER of a seminal trip-hop band Portishead was so inspired by a Herefordshire beauty spot he is penning a piece of music for fellow walkers.
Guitarist Adrian Utley will write the music for people exploring the grounds of Croft Castle near Leominster .
The track, which will be accompanied by a route map, will be available to download for 24 hours on October 12 at nationaltrust.org.uk .
Utley has been joined in his appreciation of the National Trust site by talented musical students from Wigmore High School.
Thirteen pupils worked alongside Matthew Fairclough, a composer and director of music technology at Liverpool University, and learned how to take field recordings for a new song.
The teenagers’ work will be available online from October 3 as part of a new digital arts service delivered by the BBC called The Space.
