A TEN-year-old girl has been praised for helping paramedics when her granddad suffered a heart attack.

Cerys Davies reassured her relative before describing key symptoms to ambulance staff.

The youngster had been picked up from Hampton Dene Primary School in Hereford by 73-year-old John Davies who, although he didn’t know it at the time, was suffering from the early stages of the attack.

Feeling under the weather, he drove Cerys back to the family home in Holmer where she took care of her granddad before another member of the family called the emergency services.

Mum Ceri Lloyd-Davies, who was at work at the time, said her daughter earned lavish praise from the paramedics for the role she played.

“They said she was amazing,” said Ceri.

“We’re very proud of what she has done.”

Ceri said John was now out of coronary care at Hereford County Hospital.

It is always refreshing to hear such good news stories from the Hereford Times.
Cerys must be a very lovely and sensible young lady for helping her grandfather in such difficult circumstances - well done. It proves that - as we know - the majority of our youngsters are thoughtful and caring.
So glad to hear that her granddad - John is getting better.
