HUNDREDS of people turned out to be part of the first Battle of Britain Memorial Day in Ledbury .

The event, held on Sunday, saw a procession of servicemen and marching bands make their way from Ledbury Railway Station and included a host of stalls raising money for the RAF Benevolent Fund and KidsOut.

John McQuaid, event organiser, said he hopes the event will be a permanent feature for the town.

He said: “We will definitely hold one next year and it will be bigger and better than this year’s.”
