Hereford Racecourse talks continue
6:40pm Thursday 13th September 2012 in News By Bill Tanner
TALKS on the future of Hereford Racecourse have continued in the past week with the local authority agreeing to explore the option of a longer-term lease.
The Arena Racing Company (ARC) , which holds the lease, says it will continue working with owners Herefordshire Council into the New Year in a bid to secure a future for the historic venue which is set to hold its final race in December.
Tony Kelly , managing director of ARC, said: “We will work with the council throughout the remainder of 2012 and into next year to explore whether this longer lease is a viable option for the racecourse.”
Council leader, Councillor John Jarvis, said he was pleased talks would continue, adding the authority remains committed to racing in the city.
- An idea to turn the racecourse into an all-round sport and music venue was floated earlier this month.

My God. It's getting worse for my City each and every following day.
Every single thing that the Council touch turns to a flea bitten dog that's got a busted back leg and a tail that's been gnarled and chewed after a scrap with a rabid Badger.
My feelings about these Councillors are well documented. I despise all they represent. Hate ain't the word to describe what I feel for these Parasitic fleas.
To think that this bunch of incompetent bungling idiots are going to have a steering role in the future of our Racecourse which is yet another example of the fraying threads of our soon to be lost forever Hereford culture.
Never mind, we can drink home brewed vodka and talk together of days gone by when it was truly lovely to live in Hereford. I promise you all one thing, this Council will make a mess of it all. They allways do and they allways will.
Fleas, Freeloaders and Leeches the lot of them.
