Business seminars to stem "brain drain" and boost economy
HEREFORDSHIRE must DIY to train and retain the talent needed to take its future into the 21st century, according to those behind a major series of business seminars launching this week.
Organised by Rotherwasbased recruitment specialists Define Risk Solutions (DRS) – and backed by both Allpay and the Hereford Times – the seminars set a template by which business in the county can forge talent and develop careers for – and between – themselves rather than relying on the whims of outside influence.
“The successful and seamless growth of Herefordshire hinges upon the attraction, retention and development of talent in the local area," said Stuart Blake, a DRS director.
“There has been stagnation in the employment market for four years now and as a matter of course employers will look to freshen up their teams and employees will look to expand their levels of experience as they develop their careers."
Allpay MD Tony Killeen, currently overseeing a £5 million expansion of his Whitestone-based operation, said stopping the so-called “brain drain” is one of the biggest challenges faced by the county, and one for which it is now vital that businesses come together.
There are already plans to expand the seminars into tackling unemployment and job stagnation.
- The first seminar is set for October 18 at a venue yet to be confirmed.
