St Mary's R.C High School in Lugwardine has laptops stolen

MORE than 30 laptops have been stolen from a Herefordshire school.

The laptops were taken from St Mary's R.C High School in Lugwardine between 6pm on Wednesday August 15 and 6am yesterday (16 August) after a science lab was broken into via a back window and a metal box containing 36 Lenovo SL510 laptops was forced open.

Police believe the person responsible for stealing the laptops left via a fire exit and across fields at the back of the school, as four of the computers were found on the boundary of the school's grounds.

PC Sean Smith of West Mercia Police said: "This is a high value theft and I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious people or vehicles in the area of the high school yesterday to contact us.

"When the computers are switched on, the school's logo - which cannot be deleted - appears on the screen, so it will be quite clear to anyone who unwittingly buys one of them who they belong to.

"I would also urge anyone who is offered one or knows of someone who is selling a large quantity of them to call us."
