POLICE have released an E-fit picture of a man they would like to speak to in relation to a 'sneak-in' burglary on Monday August 6.

At around 4pm on that date a man was sitting in the living room of his house on Cantilupe Street, Hereford, when he saw a man in his front garden.

When the householder asked the man what he was doing, the man asked for directions then left.

It was later discovered that a wallet containing cash, car keys and house keys had been stolen from the kitchen of the property.

Detective Constable Simon Lloyd from Hereford CID said: "It is believed that the man who asked for directions may have snuck into the house through an unlocked door prior to being spoken to by the householder.

"We have released an E-fit image of a man who was seen in the area at the time of the burglary and are keen to speak to him as he may have witnessed something in relation to this incident which could help us with our investigation."

He is described as white, around 5ft 7ins, of a medium build and aged around 30.  He was picking his teeth with a plastic toothpick and wearing a long-sleeved black shirt tucked into dark trousers. The householder says the man spoke in broken English with a foreign accent.

If you have any information call Det Con Lloyd on 0300 333 3000, quoting 714S 060812.
