Herefordshire farmer saved chickens from fire

A FARMER saved his chickens from a nasty fate after their shed caught fire.

Firefighters were called to a farm in Kings Pyon at around 2pm on Friday (August 10) to find a ventilation fan and wooden cladding on one end of a chicken shed on fire.

Luckily, the farmer went out to check on the chickens earlier than usual, which meant the flames were brought under control before further damage was caused to the shed.

All of the chickens were saved and the fire was brought under control by 2.55pm

Clucking hell that could have been really nesty. Eggcellent work by the farmer there - he will need to shell out now though to repair the damage I'm sure. Anyway, yolking aside I'm glad everything was ok.

So are these chickens not going to be killed when they are fat enough or stopped laying, it may have been more humane for them to have died from smoke inhalation that what they may have to endure soon.

Can you be a little less obvious next time, Swampy?! Like we didn't see that one coming! But seriously, you anarchists in the St. James Commune keep chickens don't you? Are veggies allowed to eat eggs anyway?

Lukio, :} I like to be obvious, don't want to confuse you. P.S. I am not an anarchist, actually conservative with a small 'c', don't live in St. James either, and don't know anyone who keeps chickens there. I think veggies are allowed to ear what they want, and normally they do eat eggs, but vegans don't eat any animal produce, there are a lot of books in Hereford Library on the subject if your interested. Peace and love to you.
