RESIDENTS have until August 20 to have their say on Herefordshire Council’s plan to increase the costs of adult social care.
The council is currently reviewing how much people pay for care.
Proposals include charging between £15 and £20 an hour for respite care that is currently free, increasing the cost of meals at day care centres from £2.80 to £4.70, charging between £16 and £19 for day care that currently costs £4.45 and charging up top £15.25 for transport in rural areas.
Councillor Nick Nenadich, cabinet assistant for social care, said: “These are difficult issues and it is not easy to always understand how circumstances may impact in people's lives and that is why this questionnaire is so important.”
The questionnaire is available at www.herefordshire.gov.uk/adultcare or call 01432 383838.
Responses must be submitted by August 20.
