Neighbours oppose plans for affordable homes

RESIDENTS in a Hereford cul-de-sac say they will consider moving if controversial plans for 17 affordable homes go ahead.

Applicant Ronald Hooper wants to build the “economically friendly” two and three-bedroomed homes on grassland off Perrystone Lane, Tupsley.

But the idea has met with fierce opposition from nearby residents and prompted a 120-signature petition against the idea.

The site is currently used as a paddock for a horse and is next to a wild bird habitat.

According to letters sent to Herefordshire Council , all but five Perrystone Lane residents are against the plans.

Gary Wheeler, who lives with wife Alison opposite the planned site entrance, said the couple would consider moving if the scheme receives the green light.

A decision is expected by October.
