Man dies following crash on A49 near Wellington

A MAN has died after his car following a crash on the A49 near Wellington this morning.

Emergency services were called near Green Farm at around 9.30am after a lorry, a Rover and a Mercedes car were in collision.

The driver of the Rover was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man driving the lorry is not believed to be seriously hurt, nor the the driver of the Mercedes.

The latter vehicle's only involvement is believed to have been taking evasive action to avoid the collision.

The A49 is currently closed at Hope under Dinmore, with traffic diversions were being put in place on the A465 and A417.
