A new website is offering a glimpse of Herefordshire’s past captured from the air.

Britainfromabove.org.uk has been launched by the English Heritage and the Royal Commissions on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland and Wales.

It features old and valuable images of the Aerofilms Collection – an archive of about 15,000 photographs taken between 1919 and 2006.

Among them are images of Hereford’s Victoria Bridge and St Mary’s Church in Ross-on- Wye in 1921 as well as Leominster in 1920.

While some show changes that come with time, others show almost how some of the county’s timeless countryside has hardly changed at all.
