Poetry Festival compiles fundraising anthology of poems about childhood

AN anthology of poems, From Childhood’s Hour, has been compiled by Ledbury Poetry Festival to raise funds to support their programme for emerging poets and a similar scheme for artists at Shell House Gallery.

From Childhood’s Hour, which will be on sale during the festival, features poems about childhood by new and established poets (including Ledbury’s two new young poets-in-residence) who have all appeared or will appear at the festival, including Simon Armitage, Carol Ann Duffy, Matt Harvey, Jackie Kay and Bill Manhire.

The poems are accompanied by illustrations commissioned by Shell House Gallery.

The anthology will be on sale for £8.99 during the Poetry Festival (from tomorrow, Friday, until July 8) in local bookshops, The Shell House Gallery and the Poetry Festival box office on Church Street, Ledbury.

The publication was made possible through funding from The Foyle Foundation.
