Have your say on Ledbury's Masters House

HEREFORDSHIRE residents can have their say on how the story of the Masters House in Ledbury should be told.

Anyone can go along to a community consultation morning on Tuesday July 3 outside the Market House in Ledbury from 9am to 2pm, where they can discuss stories that might be told about the building through methods such as information boards and guided tours.

There will also be the chance to go inside the house, where medieval timber frame is exposed for the first time in hundreds of years.

Herefordshire Council has been awarded a stage one pass from the Heritage Lottery Fund to develop plans for the restoration of the House and to tell its story, which forms part of the medieval St Katherine’s Hospital site in the centre of Ledbury.

Once restored, the building will be used for community services including a community library, Herefordshire Council customer services and the registrar’s service. It will also become home to Ledbury Voluntary Action and the Victoria County History Trust.

Andy Tector, Herefordshire Council, said: “This is a very exciting project and we’d like people to come and look at the ideas that have developed so far and tell us what they think.”
