Charlotte Church to close How the Light Gets In festival in Hay-on-Wye Charlotte Church to close How the Light Gets In festival in Hay-on-Wye

CHARLOTTE Church has announced that she will close this year's How the Light Gets In festival in Hay-on-Wye.

WELSH singer Charlotte Church will be performing a special intimate show at this year’s HowTheLightGetsIn philosophy and music festival at Hay. Festival goers will be among the first to witness the latest reincarnation of the voice that has sold more than 10 million records. Having risen to fame as a classical artist when only a child, she embarked on a pop career in her late teens which she now veers away from in favour of a bold and unique new sound, creating vast musical landscapes with big drums and big guitars. All she asks is that you leave your preconceptions at the door. In her words: “I’m really looking forward to performing at HowTheLight GetsIn. “It’s a great festival in a great town and I’ve missed playing live. The music I’m making now is pretty different to anything I’ve done before, so I recommend people come with an open mind.” Tickets and full programme details are available at howthelightgetsin.org

The festival takes place during the first ten days in June and features 165 speakers and 150 bands spread over six stages.

Some of the speakers who will be there include MPs Dianne Abbott and David Blunkett, Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis and broadcaster Katie Derham.
