School bus hits building in Wigmore

The scene of the crash in Wigmore. The scene of the crash in Wigmore.

Firefighters are prepared to “deconstruct” part of a derelict building in Wigmore struck by a school bus this morning.

The A4110 road into the village could be shut for up to seven hours while the site – already surrounded by scaffolding – is made safe.

Search and rescue specialists at the scene have said at least part of the building may have to come down given the extent of the damage.

The bus had dropped kids off at the village school just before the collision.

The driver was uninjured.
