Tributes to well-known Hereford golfers

Tributes have been paid to two well-known Hereford golfers who died just days apart.

Belmont Golf Club’s Terry Parr collapsed before a game on April 22. The 63-year-old later died at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport.

Four days earlier on April 18, club founding member and former senior captain Ken Shurmer lost his battle against cancer.

Paying tribute to both players Belmont captain Paul Emberton said the club’s thoughts were with the family’s of both men.

“Belmont Golf Club will be a much poorer place for Terry’s passing,” said Paul.

“While Ken leaves a legacy that will endure for current and future members.”
