Thieves target Hay-on-Wye antiques shop

A distraction theft is being investigated after jewellery was stolen from Lion Antiques in Hay-on-Wye.

Police believe three people - two men and a woman all aged between 30-40, took various items, mainly gold rings, from the store in Lion Street at 1.50pm on April 27.

Anyone with information is asked to call Dyfed-Powys Police on 01267 222020.

The three persons are described as:

• White female, 5ft 6, jet black long dyed hair, wearing a short white coat, carrying a handbag and umbrella.

• White male, 5ft6, with thinning dark hair cut very short, wearing a plain dark suit.

• White male, extremely pale looking with a noticeably pitted/ scarred left side of his face, wearing a thin anorak type garment (navy blue).
