Fownhope Medical Centre will home Walenty Pytel sculpture

Fownhope Medical Centre will soon display a work of art by Herefordshire sculptor Walenty Pytel.

The medical centre invited primary schools within its practice area to submit their pupils' ideas for a sculpture by Walenty who is known internationally for his work.

The sculpture will take pride of place at the recently extended centre situated in an orchard on the edge of the village.

Hannah Drury, from Woolhope, was the winner of a £25 book token for her entry entitled 'Fownhope Medical Centre - Core of the Community'.

Walenty will be focusing on an apple motif and good health as the core of the community.

Liz Moore, practice manager, said: "We received some excellent entries but felt that Hannah had imaginatively captured local sentiments."
